Request for 2014 TIG Letters of Intent

LSC has posted the TIG program's Request for Letters of Intent to Apply for 2014 Grant Funding document. This request provides guidance on submitting TIG letters of intent (LOIs), the first stage of the grant application process. LSC will solicit full proposals for projects that have a reasonable chance of success based on review of the submitted LOIs.
For 2014, LSC has an appropriation of $3.45 million to fund technology projects across the legal services community. This year’s TIG areas of interest align closely with the key initiatives identified in LSC’s Summit on the Use of Technology to Expand Access to Justice. Four of the major technology initiatives from the Summit -- document assembly, mobile technologies, expert systems and checklists, and business process analysis -- are particular focus areas in the 2014 cycle. An additional area covers technology tools with applicability to federal laws.
LSC welcomes applications for a wide variety of projects, and programs should not limit their proposals to the above topics. Any initiative that makes innovative use of technology to enhance client self-help or otherwise improve the legal services delivery system will receive serious consideration.
TIG staff will host a webinar on the application cycle Thursday, February 27 at 2:00 pm EST/11:00 am PST. Please contact us if you have questions.
